Port of Rotterdam joins fund to expand opportunities for children in Rotterdam-Zuid

Expanding development opportunities for underprivileged children in Rotterdam-Zuid is at the heart of the partnership between the Port of Rotterdam Authority and the Youth Education Fund. Until 2028, the Port of Rotterdam will support the fund with an annual contribution of €150,000.

On Monday 6 January, Vivienne de Leeuw, CFO and Chair of the Sponsorship Committee, presented a symbolic cheque to Hans Spekman, director of the Youth Education Fund (see photo). This took place during the Port of Rotterdam’s New Year’s reception which was held at a fitting location: Zuidplein Theatre in Rotterdam-Zuid. The Youth Education Fund works to improve opportunities for children growing up in relative poverty.

The partnership aligns seamlessly with the Port of Rotterdam’s purpose: “Connecting the world. Building tomorrow’s sustainable port”. Further strengthening the connection between the city and the port is key priority to this aimable endeavour.
