…many interesting places to visit are within walking distance from Cruise Port? A 10-minute walk via Erasmusbrug takes you to the Maritime Museum, opposite the entrance to Witte de Withstraat, a lively street with shops and restaurants right next to the city centre.
Or take the underground 2 stops (Wilhelminaplein METRO Station is very close to the Cruise Terminal) or even the tram (also at Wilhelminaplein).
The Dutch Photo Museum opposite the Cruise Terminal is relocating…….
The iconic Santos Coffee Warehouse (1903) in the Katendrecht district in Rotterdam is undergoing a spectacular transformation to become the new Dutch Photo Museum, currently situated opposite the Cruise Terminal. The new location is not far either, about a 5-minute walk crossing the nearby Rijnhavenbrug, 2 minutes from the Cruise Terminal.
The Santos Warehouse was built between 1901 and 1903 for the Rotterdam- based Blauwhoedenveem Company. The warehouse was intended for the storage of Brazilian coffee that was shipped from the port of Santos. It is located near the Rijnhaven on the Katendrecht peninsula. For a long time, this building was the largest warehouse in Rotterdam. However it was only used to a limited extent because it was not built directly on the quay. Since 2000, the building has been a national monument.
